The puppy-countdown has officially started!

Last Sunday, we had the chance to visit pregnant mommy London. She looked healthy, happy and not very pregnant, surprisingly! Her rib cage has widened a bit, but she’s either carrying only a few pups or she’s carrying the pups pretty high. Most likely, there’ll be one or two, maybe three pups.

A normal Lakie litter is about 3 to 5 pups. As the age of the mommy and the amount of litters she has had increases, the amount of pups she’ll be carrying decreases. We’re not sure how many times London has been bred, but she is turning 5 in October, which could be the reason for the smaller litter. Most importantly, however, everything seems to be going pretty smoothly and London is doing very well. She’s taking it easy and even had time to pose for us while playing on the sofa…

The most exciting thing about the visit was most definitely feeling the puppies… they were alive and kicking inside London’s tummy! It’s just incredible to be so involved in this process!

After we met London, we hung out with Nico for a bit. He was just as adorable as when we first met him. He is clueless, though. No idea he’s about to become a father. He was more interested in London’s squeaky toy than anything else!

When we went outside for a bit, he followed us and demanded our attention on the driveway…

I don’t think we could have asked for better parents to our puppy, do you? The countdown officially started when we left Judy’s. London is due on the 11th! Judy will keep us up to date every step of the way via text message… We won’t see London or Nico again until the puppies are four weeks old. See you later, guys!
